Commercial Analytics Manager

Commercial Analytics Manager

Location: San Francisco Bay Area Preferred Remote
Department: Commercial

Are you driven by data and energized by complexity? Are you someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment where precision and initiative are rewarded?

Vesper Energy is seeking a Senior Commercial Analyst to join our high-performing Commercial team and lead revenue modeling and analytics in support of M&A and Origination efforts across our 15+ GW development pipeline.

This is a high-impact, detail-intensive role where success depends on your ability to think critically, communicate clearly, and manage multiple commercial inputs in a constantly evolving market landscape. You will be a core part of the team that structures and monetizes utility-scale solar, storage, and hybrid assets across major US energy markets.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead development of revenue models for solar, storage, and hybrid assets.
  • Optimize full revenue stack across wholesale energy, ancillary services, and capacity markets.
  • Conduct economic sensitivity analysis and scenario modeling to inform pricing, structuring, and quantitative terms within offtake contracts, PSA, and MIPPA contracts.
  • Analyze market fundamentals, policy drivers, changing quantitative regulatory dynamics, and ISO/RTO market mechanics.
  • Serve as a commercial thought partner to internal teams: development, engineering, transmission, finance, and operations.
  • Craft proposals, respond to RFPs, and support customer-facing presentations with data-backed insights.
  • Coordinate with structured finance team to align revenue modeling with project valuation and financial model.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Analytically elite. You can slice through large datasets, find the patterns, and convert them into actionable business insights (i.e. put the data into context with respect to the effort at hand).
  • Process-oriented, but not process-bound. You bring structure to ambiguity and move projects forward with minimal oversight.
  • Clear and concise. You can distill complex technical information into simple language for a wide audience of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Driven by impact. You want your work to directly influence deal structures and commercial outcomes.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or similar field.
  • 5–7+ years of direct experience in renewable energy revenue modeling or commercial analytics.
  • Deep familiarity with ISO/RTO market structures and revenue contracts.
  • Strong command of offtake structures, energy storage revenue stacking, and price forecasting.
  • Mastery of Excel and presentation tools (PowerPoint, etc.). VBA, Python or Power BI is a plus.
  • CFA designation or advanced degree a plus.

Key Traits for Success:

  • High autonomy and self-direction; you move fast and don’t wait to be told what to do when you feel confident in your ability to execute on tasks/projects.
  • Low need for external validation; you’re results-first, not ego-driven.
  • High attention to detail and follow-through; you build systems and stick to them.
  • Fast-paced and proactive; you thrive in environments where execution matters most.
  • Preferred candidates will have demonstrated experience in solar, storage, and hybrid asset revenue modeling, financial modelling and asset valuation, and experience interfacing with customers to explain complex structures with a desire to develop into a commercial leadership role.
