Vesper Energy is seeking a proactive and experienced Manager of Structured Finance to oversee the financial aspects of the company’s renewable energy projects. The Manager of Structured Finance will play a key role in managing project financing, supporting mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and optimizing financial performance across the company’s portfolio. This role will report directly to the Vice President of Structured Finance and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of financial strategies.
Desired Educational Level:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related technical field with relevant experience in finance.
- Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA) are preferred.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in finance, with a focus on renewable energy, project finance, or a related sector.
- Strong understanding of solar and storage project economics and financial modeling.
- Proven experience with construction loans, term loans, and tax equity structuring/modeling.
- Demonstrated experience with deal execution, including managing due diligence and closing transactions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and financial modeling software.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Financing:
- Oversee the day-to-day management of project financing programs, including construction loans, term loans, letters of credit, and tax equity fundings.
- Manage and optimize the existing revolving credit facility supporting Vesper’s development needs.
- Lead financial modeling efforts to support project financing, pricing decisions, and portfolio management.
- Support potential financing initiatives.
- Manage deal execution processes, including coordinating bank/investor due diligence and working with external consultants to ensure successful closing of transactions.
- Develop strong relationships with banks, investors, third-party legal, technical, and tax advisors to manage deliverable quality, cost, and schedule for financial closes.
Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A):
- Support M&A activities by conducting financial due diligence, managing data rooms, and preparing financial models to evaluate potential acquisitions.
- Collaborate with legal, accounting, and project teams to ensure seamless integration of acquired assets.
Portfolio Management:
- Monitor and evaluate the financial performance of the company’s project portfolio, identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement.
- Administer loan and tax equity documents during construction and funding, ensuring compliance with financial agreements and covenants.
- Support business plan processes, including periodic updates to portfolio-wide valuation model(s) and presentations.
- Monitor trends and developments in areas such as ITC, PTC, direct pay, tariffs, supply chain, interest rates, and merchant forecasts.
Strategic Financial Planning:
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Structured Finance to develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company’s growth objectives.
- Prepare and present materials for presentations to Vesper’s board of directors, detailing project economics and the status of financing initiatives.
