Vesper Energy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Assistant General Counsel to provide legal support across various aspects of the company’s operations. This role will involve advising on legal matters related to project development, contracts, compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. The Director, Assistant General Counsel will work closely with the General Counsel, the executive team, and other members of the organization to manage legal risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Desired Educational Level:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Member in good standing of a state bar.
Basic Qualifications:
- 8+ years of legal experience, with a strong background in energy law, corporate law, or project finance.
- Experience in the renewable energy sector is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of legal issues related to project development, contracts, and compliance.
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and support on matters related to project development, real estate, contracts, compliance, and corporate governance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including real estate agreements, contracts, joint venture agreements, and financing agreements.
- Advise on legal risks and mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Support the General Counsel in managing legal aspects of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions.
- Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to ensure best practices and mitigate legal risks.
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel and coordinate legal services as needed.
