Purpose:
Vesper Energy is looking for an experienced Director of Origination to lead our efforts in identifying, developing, and executing renewable energy projects. This role is crucial in shaping the strategic direction of our renewable energy initiatives and establishing partnerships and opportunities to expand our footprint in the industry.
Desired Educational Level:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as energy management, business, or engineering. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, including project origination and development.
- Proven track record in successfully sourcing and executing renewable energy projects, with a deep understanding of project finance, energy markets, and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience in leading and managing cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of relevant industry software and tools for financial modeling and analysis.
- Commitment to sustainability and a passion for advancing clean energy solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the origination strategy for renewable energy projects.
- Identify and evaluate potential projects that align with our company’s goals and values.
- Lead the assessment of potential projects, conducting due diligence, financial analysis, and risk assessments to determine their viability and potential return on investment.
- Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including developers, investors, government agencies, and other industry players to identify collaboration opportunities and secure project financing.
- Collaborate with the legal and finance teams to structure and negotiate project agreements, contracts, and partnerships, ensuring that all aspects align with company objectives and industry best practices.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and incentives related to renewable energy to inform decision-making and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and policies.
- Manage a team of professionals dedicated to origination efforts, providing guidance and support to achieve set goals and objectives.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations on origination activities, project status, and potential opportunities for the executive team and other stakeholders.
